Effective
Newsletters
When
you are planning to produce a newsletter to send to your clients
and prospective clients, here are some thoughts to consider.
A
common approach is to provide information about your company: a
recent promotion within the firm, an accomplishment and/or a new
product introduction. This is fine and
you will get some positive feedback with this approach. An alternative
approach is to focus on
providing information that’s a benefit to the companies receiving
the newsletter.
We’ve
received great feedback on our newsletter, which we introduced in
January, 2003.
It
e-mails monthly and consists of four pages of information: usually
two feature articles, some smaller articles, a web-site-of-the-month,
some one minute ideas, some power words and often some humor. The
only mention of us is the name and the usual variety of ways to
contact us.
Try
this approach for a year and then review the results. We have had
great success.
